Dr. Janet Wilkins received a BA at St. Mary’s University and then moved to Kingston, Ontario where she earned an MA and then a PhD in Psychology at Queen’s University.  Since returning to Nova Scotia almost 20 years ago, she has worked with children, adolescents, parents, and adults in hospital and private practice settings.  She is familiar with treating anxiety, ADHD, parenting issues, depression, loss, trauma, grief, PTSD and problems resulting from life’s stressors.  She employs cognitive behavioral techniques (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT).
